Lainey the Headbanger

This morning things got a little back to normal. Lauren went to school, her cold is a lot better she's just a bit snuffy now. Today was also Lainey's library class. I took her in the van since it's a little drive downtown to the library. She's a funny bunny. We have a mixed CD in the van that Jay made a while back. There are mellow songs on it but also a few kind of fast ones. Lainey has started to let us know she wants to hear music lately. She'll sometimes even point at the CD player and say "dance" or start to bop back and forth while pointing at it. So today I put on her favorite. Jay calls it the "crazy song" and it's really not a kids song but my little Lainey just loves "Mr. Brightside" by The Killers. :o) She spent most of our drive to the library shaking her head back and forth and bouncing in her car seat. It's funny, James Blunt will come on next and she'll get mad. She likes her "crazy song". Luckily she's not really into the words yet.

Unfortunately the upbeat car ride mood didn't last too long. We got to the library and she turned into a shy little cutie. I took her into the little room where they have storytime and she ran over to the wall where the magazines are. She spent most of the class with her back up against the wall staring at the other babies. In the last few minutes she got into it. Too bad it's only a half hour class. :o( Then it was time to come home. I spent about 10 minutes in the parking lot trying to get her to go in her carseat. She's a big girl and when she doesn't want to go in her carseat she can really squirm. I finally told her we could stop for some "baby donuts" also known as timbits on the way home. That did it... she nodded her head and away we went. We had a deal.

Lauren had a better morning at school than her last day but still cried for the first half hour. Then apparently she was a golden child. She is selling chocolate bars now for school. We won't be sending her door to door, Jay will probably take the box to work and temp his co-workers into buying some. Also next Saturday is her birthday party so she can hit up the grandparents and uncles. he he She'd rather just buy them all herself and eat them.

They don't waste any time getting the kiddies out fundraising!!! One week and off they go. I'm glad that Lauren is adjusting, and that cracks me up about Lainey dancing up a storm in the car!!!
